ENVIRONMENT CONSCIOUSNESS

Students are made aware of the increasing air, water, and noise pollution and how we can control the same at our level.   Rallies are taken around the city with anti-plastic slogans and paper bags are distributed in the shops and to the roadside vendors.  Students are encouraged to celebrate eco-friendly festivals.

Trees are planted by the students and they are encouraged to take care of the trees planted.

MOST IMPORTANT 3R’s

Importance of 3R’s Reduce, Recycle, Reuse, and now Respect.

The 3 R’s help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away.  To manage waste is not to produce it.  Students are told to shop sensibly.  Cloth napkins can be used instead of paper napkins. Use of recycled paper for office work.

• Students are encouraged to visit the group D quarters nearby and make a survey regarding the living and eating habits of the people under the guidance of the teachers.

PLANTATIONS/PLANT PROTECTION

The eco-club in the school organizes activities relating to environment ornamental, avenue trees, and medicinal herbs.

• They are made aware of the natural fertilizers and synthetic fertilizers like urea which can be got easily and how they are used with the soil for plantation of trees.
• They are also acquainted with the common pests like locusts, fruit flies, grasshoppers, caterpillars, etc and plant diseases caused by them. The use of natural pesticides like tobacco water, neem leaves, salt spray, etc is shown to stop them.

SCHOOL GARDENING PROJECT

The students contributed a great deal in planting trees and developing greenery around the school.  The lawns around the school were laid by the students and the staff of the school.
